Week of Welcome 2020

Published: Tuesday, 4 August 2020

As we hunker down at home to stop the spread of COVID-19, this virtual Week of Welcome will keep us connected. As Beach Pride Events Coordinator Sabrina Ware explained, “Having this event online presents a great opportunity for students to discover the wide range of clubs and organizations fitted to their interests. There’s something for everybody!”

As Sabrina explained, a virtual Week of Welcome means more accessibility for you, the student. Instead of its typical 2-day format, the event will take place over the course of 5 days, allowing you to check out every organization’s “booth” with less worry about your class schedule!

Like Sabrina, Lead Student Program Assistant Leanne Meyers has high hopes for the virtual involvement fair.

“Week of Welcome is designed to be a free-flowing experience for students, allowing them to make connections and get involved on campus,” she said. “With this new virtual platform, we really want to emphasize that unrestricted feeling by ensuring that you, as a student, have full access to every organization that makes Long Beach State so great.”

As part of that mission, you’ll be able to jump in between organizations’ online sessions at a moment's notice – no need to worry about lines, crowds, or distance!

Keep your eyes peeled for more information on this year’s Week of Welcome, and for those of you in a leadership role of a student organization, make sure to enter your contact information on asicsulb.org to stay updated on this exciting event!
