We Want More: KBeach 88.1 Hours of Live Recording

Long Beach, Calif. - June 17, 2015 - Are you listening Long Beach? Student-run radio station, KBeach, will host their first official fundraiser to showcase their talent, accomplishments and desire to reach new heights. The 88.1 hours of live recording will start Thursday, June 18, at 8 a.m. through Sunday, June 21, at midnight on 88.1 FM HD 3.

There has been a tremendous amount of work done at KBeach for the past two years. KBeach has received seven Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) awards this year alone, claimed the title of the second best college radio station in the nation and 10 students have already received full-time jobs in the radio and broadcasting industry after graduating and leaving KBeach. Former students largely credit their experience at KBeach for preparing them and ultimately making them the successful candidate for these professional jobs.

Now, due to the overwhelming amount of success that has transpired, KBeach "wants more." More awards, jobs, equipment and programming for students at California State University, Long Beach. "We want to continue to empower students to follow their dreams, build their network and gain experience in radio," said host of "Good Morning Long Beach State," Devin Thomas Ablard. "And with more resources, the more opportunities for students."

"Good Morning Long Beach State" will launch the fundraiser on Thursday, June 18, at 8 a.m. There will also be a live remote broadcast of the "Live with Keya and Dave" show from The Beach on Second Street at 4 p.m. KBeach encourages the Long Beach community to come out and support in any way that they can by listening to the various shows, donating to the radio station or even volunteering.

Participants will be eligible for many prize opportunities throughout the fundraiser, including the grand prize provided by sponsor, Turkish Airlines, of one round-trip anywhere the airline travels to. Now is your opportunity, Long Beach to tune in and support the highly acclaimed and multitalented students of KBeach radio.
