Did you know that most of ASI’s events are FREE to attend? All you need is your Long Beach State University (LBSU) student ID to join in—and you’re set to enjoy everything from crafts and food to drinks, giveaways and more.
While you’re making the most of these free events, don’t forget to pick up your ASI Spirit Challenge stamp card for a chance to win a FREE Spring 2026 parking pass! Cards are available at the Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC) or the Beach Pride Events (BPE) office in Peterson Hall 1 (PH1) 200. Attend 25 events this semester to qualify.

Are you more of a night owl looking for an evening outing? The SRWC’s Dark Climb is the perfect event for an exciting adventure with a group of fellow night owls, and a great workout too. In this thrilling event, you or your partners can be brave enough to climb new heights on the SRWC Rock Wall as someone helps you navigate the challenge while the clock is ticking. Each team has a chance to win awesome swag, courtesy of Mountain Hardwear and Columbia Sportswear!

Paint & Sip is a mocktail event hosted by BPE to help you tap into your creativity. These events usually take place around noon, so be sure to mark your calendars! Relax and have fun as professional instructors guide you through a step-by-step painting session. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced painter, this is a great way to unwind and get creative. All materials will be provided, and you'll get to take home your masterpiece! Enjoy some fun and quench your thirst with free beverages while you paint—just bring your imagination. Yes, you heard that right, ASI Student Government (ASGV) offers a wide range of opportunities for all students to make their voices heard by the student leaders who represent your concerns.
Each week, students can visit Beach Team on Tuesdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Peterson Hall 1 (PH1) 201 to explore volunteer opportunities and collaborate with student leaders to make The Beach a better place!
Throughout the semester, ASGV also hosts events like Know Your Rights, Connect with Your Commissioners and Meet Your Senators At-Large, all designed to help students learn about leadership opportunities, share concerns and enjoy fun giveaways. You thought bowling was gone? Think again! The Games Center and Cerritos Bowlero are teaming up to prove the spirit of the University Student Union (USU) lives on with a free bowling night at Bowlero Cerritos (18811 Carmenita Rd., Cerritos, CA 90703). Bring your competitive spirit and student ID, and RSVP through Events & Orgs to claim your spot—only 30 students can attend, so don’t wait! Please note that transportation is not included.

Join Sustain U to discuss the latest trends in sustainability and get ready to talk trash—literally! Trash Talkers is a fun, biweekly event happening Mondays from 12 to 1 p.m. at Speaker’s Platform on Oct. 6 & 20, and Nov. 3 & 17.
Play interactive games, test your recycling knowledge, and earn your official Trash Talker certification (plus a cool t-shirt!). RSVP on Events & Orgs and help us turn waste into wins!

Feeling stressed out from all the homework? Take a break with Pups & Cups on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Maxson Plaza. LBSU students can enjoy free snacks, DIY crafts, and puppy playtime designed to help you relax and recharge. The event is free and open only to LBSU students. This recurring event happens during midterms and finals to help you de-stress and find peace by petting adorable, soft pups! For more information, please visit asicsulb.org/calendar.

This open mic night is a favorite among those who experience it. It’s an event that brings together artists from different mediums and encourages meaningful conversations about art, poetry and music.
Unwind under the evening sky at Night of Narratives on Oct. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. on the SRWC East Lawn. This cozy, coffeehouse-style event invites LBSU students to share or enjoy live music, poetry, comedy and storytelling. Free snacks, giveaways and opportunity drawings are usually included. Take a mini trip on the weekends with Rock & Outdoor Adventures (ROA) throughout the semester! ROA hosts hikes and occasional camping trips to iconic locations like Joshua Tree, Black Star Canyon, and more!
Join us at Stoney Point on Oct. 11 from 7 a.m. until evening to connect with nature and get your steps in! This outdoor adventure is suitable for all skill levels, especially those transitioning from gym to outdoor climbing. The cost is $50 for students and $100 for non-students, including food, gear and transportation. Sign up by Oct. 5 at 11:59 p.m. to reserve your spot!
