Laurén Chalmers ’83 Beach Pantry
Make a positive impact by volunteering with the Laurén Chalmers ’83 Beach Pantry. Since 2016, the pantry has provided food and resources to Long Beach State students experiencing food insecurity and serves hundreds of students each day. Volunteers play an important role by stocking shelves, collecting donations from across campus and supporting outreach activities at campus events. Beach Pride Events
Join Beach Pride Events (BPE) and help bring some of Long Beach State’s most popular events to life. Volunteers support ASI events that promote student engagement and enhance campus life through social, educational, cultural and entertainment programming. Gain behind-the-scenes exposure to signature events such as Week of Welcome, Smorgasport, ASI Big Event and “An Evening With” speaker series, while contributing to memorable and meaningful experiences for the Long Beach State community.

Sustain U
Get involved with Sustain U and help promote sustainability across the Long Beach State community. Volunteers support sustainability workshops, hands-on gardening events, community outreach initiatives and waste reduction campaigns while learning about environmental issues and contributing to projects that create a lasting positive impact on campus. 22 West Media
Join 22 West Media and develop valuable skills in digital media production. Volunteers contribute to student-led 22 West Radio, 22 West Television and 22 West Magazine while building experience in content creation, storytelling, broadcasting, production and media communications. Work with fellow students to help produce content that informs, entertains and connects to the Long Beach State community. Learn more at 22 West Media.
Other Ways to Get Involved
Beach Team
Explore leadership opportunities with ASI and Student Government by joining the Beach Team. This fall-semester program introduces students to the values and practices of student government while encouraging campus involvement, teamwork and community engagement. Participants build leadership and communication skills, connect with fellow students and gain valuable experience that can support future involvement and leadership opportunities with ASI.
Some exciting Beach Team activities include:
- Mentoring with student government leaders in various branches
- Receiving leadership training
- Helping to support ASI elections
- Coordinating and executing events with Beach Pride Events
- Working with other programs under ASI, such as Beach Pride Events, 22 West Media, ASI Communications and more!

Student Government
