As the academic year comes to a close, I hope each of you were able to accomplish the goals you set for yourself. Whether it was getting that GPA you were aiming for, asking out that special someone you’ve been crushing on, joining a life-changing student organization, landing that job or simply getting through the year – I hope your year was one full of positive experiences. And to those who had to overcame challenges this year, which given the climate of our country I think we all experienced just a bit, we should take pride in the fact that we will one day be able to look back and say we persevered; we overcame our obstacles with strength and tenacity; and that we changed the way we led our lives for the better because of it. Personally, this year has been a roller-coaster of an experience as president. From fighting against those who were in support of a tuition increase to providing open forums for those trying to get their voice heard, this year has been a constant battle – difficult at times, but ultimately hopeful.
Speaking on behalf of all of your student leaders and employees here at ASI, we hope that our work – from providing finals week activities, giveaways and concerts, to representing you at the state and local levels with all our might – has made your student experience that much more enjoyable. And hopefully, you as a student, that much more successful. As always, Go Beach!
