Networking is vital to your future. I know...as students, we’ve heard our professors and employers push us to network a million times, but what does it mean? And can everyone just...do it? The answer is yes and here’s how!

This October the Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship is hosting their monthly Innovation Hour and the topic is networking. Don Lupo, Director of Content and Marketing for ThinkLA, is this month’s speaker and you will not want to miss out. Lupo is a founding member of the DIG Initiative, which focuses on opportunities related to diversity, inclusion and gender to recognize our diverse marketing, advertising and media strengths.

Lupo’s Innovation Hour is a significant opportunity for anyone to learn key networking skills! And connects perfectly to our celebration of OUTober.

This month’s Innovation Hour is an opportunity for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to learn about the benefits of networking while participating in an inclusive environment. This event pairs perfectly with one of our upcoming events: Queer Speed Friending. Come chat with other students who want to expand their network and build your diverse community!

Innovation can come from anyone. And events like Queer Speed Friending and Innovation Hour are chances to gain more skills that help put your ideas out there, build your resource network and even make some friends!

Don’t miss out on these free, inclusive professional development opportunities! Queer Speed Friending is Oct. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at USU 205 and the Innovation Hour is Oct. 19 from 12 to 1:15 p.m. on Zoom.
