DACA/Undocumented Student Support/Activism

As 2018 gets underway, ASI continues to stand up for undocumented students on campus and those affected by the uncertain future of DACA since its rescission last year. ASI will continue to offer resources and support for students affected throughout the coming semester and year.

“With everything that’s happening in our current political climate, we want to show our students that their student government is looking out for them,” said Gaby Hernandez, AB540 and Undocumented Students Commissioner. “We want to make sure our students know that they are not alone in what they’re going through. The support group offers a place for affected students to feel safe, share their stories and struggles, and to connect with others who have similar experiences.”

In collaboration with the Dream Success Center and facilitated by the university’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) department, the Undocumented/DACA Support Group will meet once a month in USU Room 304 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meetings will take place on February 7, March 5, April 4, and May 2.
