Description
Anime Night is a campus celebration of creativity, fandom and community, bringing together students who love anime, art, cosplay and Japanese pop culture.
Attendees can explore hands-on craft stations, chibi art drawing tables, mini-games and a lively cosplay runway and contest where students can show off their outfits and win opportunity drawings. Join us for an energetic evening filled with interactive activities and a colorful, welcoming space designed to spark creativity, connection and school spirit.
Students who wish to be in costume must go through an inspection prior to entering the event, starting at 5:45 p.m.
Please review the following requirements carefully:
- All costumes must comply with Long Beach State University (LBSU) campus policies and university safety standards.
- Costumes must be school-appropriate and suitable for a public campus environment.
- No excessive nudity, lingerie-style outfits or clothing that violates the university dress code. No hate symbols, offensive imagery or inappropriate language displayed on costumes.
- Attendees with bulky costumes, costumes that obscure vision or costumes with large extensions such as wings or spikes, should have a designated “handle” to assist them through the hallways and crowds.
- No costumes may be realistic depictions of American law enforcement, current American military uniforms, first responders, emergency medical personnel, or any official government agent. “Vintage” historical and any non-current uniforms, and any military or police-style costumes may be addressed at the event’s discretion (ex. Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, etc.).
- Shoes must be worn at all times.
Props & Weapons:
- No real weapons of any kind.
- No realistic-looking prop weapons.
- No sharp objects or exposed metal.
- No functional bows, airsoft, BB guns or projectile devices.
- Large props must be lightweight and safe for crowded environments.
Prohibited Elements:
- No fire, smoke, open flames or pyrotechnics.
- No liquids, glitter, confetti or materials that may damage campus property.
- No hazardous materials.
Event staff reserves the right to inspect costumes and props. Participants may be asked to modify or remove unsafe elements. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.
