About “Minari”
In pursuit of the American dream, a Korean American family moves to Arkansas. However, new beginnings are always challenging. Finding out what is best for the family, growing and tending to a 50-acre farm, and selling Korean fruits and vegetables is easier said than done. Even with sincere promises, cultural unease, fleeting hopes, and the ever-present threat of financial disaster, Jacob is convinced that he has found their own slice of Eden in the rich, dark soil of Arkansas. "Minari" follows the family’s journey to learn what it means to make a new home. It was nominated for several Academy Awards and features actress Yuh-Jung Youn, who won the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in 2021.
