Instructional Classes at the SRWC are specialized fitness classes taught by professionals in the industry who may have more trainings and certifications than other instructors. These classes are reduced to a limited number of participants to create an environment that facilitates a learning outcome. Instructional classes range from boxing to popular fitness regimes like the Total Body Work, and are offered to SRWC members only at a nominal fee.
Registration opens Aug. 22 and classes begin the week of Sept. 11.
There are two six-week sessions each semester for all classes except for Weightlifting 101, which will have three four-week sessions. See information below.
Session One - 9/11 - 10/20; Session Two - 10/23 - 12/8
Total Body Work- T/TH 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Shred your lazy habits and jumpstart your fitness with this 6-week group training session. Workout with a certified personal trainer in a small group setting. Limited to 8 participants.
This class utilizes the Pilates Reformer in a group setting. The reformer is one of the main pieces of pilates equipment that offers spring resistance to further strengthen the body as a whole. Improve your posture and bring balance to your body. Many of the same exercises done in a pilates mat class are performed on the reformer to increase flexibility, strength, and control without adding bulk.
Weightlifting 101 is designed for participants to learn, understand, and develop the basics of weightlifting. Taught by Certified Personal Trainers, this class will break down strength training through a variety of movements, using dumbbells, barbells and machines. When completing a full session of Weightlifting 101, you will feel confident in the gym, have proper form, and know how to design a strength workout routine. *No experience necessary*
